Under the Compass's Hood
Every aspect of the Jeep Compass has been redesigned this year which means it offers more impressive performance capabilities and newly added best-in-class off-road capabilities. Every 2017 Jeep Compass comes equipped with 2.4-liter Tigershark engine which offers 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. This engine makes use of a MultiAir2 electro-hydraulic, fully variable valve-actuation system to improve efficiency. There three available transmissions depending on which drivetrain is selected. Front-wheel-drive models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission while four-wheel-drive vehicles get the class-exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission. There is also a six-speed manual transmission available to vehicles with either drivetrain. Its newfound talent for off-roading is thanks in part to the two advanced intelligent four-wheel-drive systems. Both of these drivetrains has the ability to transfer all of the available torque to any one of the four wheels. There are four Jeep Compass trim levels: the Sport, Latitude, Limited, and the Trailhawk. The Trailhawk trim level further optimizes its off-road capability.
Design of Jeep Compass

It brings Jeep's unique style elements to a segment that is otherwise underserved. The seven-slot grille that makes an appearance on many Jeep vehicles is back and comes decorated with Gloss Black. The interior has plenty of great features to help keep the passengers comfortable and content. It features a space for the driver that is crafted with intention to best suit the driver's needs. The steering wheel features voice, speed, and audio controls for easy access, while a 3.5- or 7-inch LED information display gives the driver information they need in one easy location. The center console offers one consolidated location for many features including engine stop-start, Selec-Terrain controls, electronic paring brake, and a storage bin with connectivity ports for charging among many others.
